#ElectricalSafety info courtesy of our friends at Central Hudson 🔥Electrical fires can be caused by a variety of conditions, including overloaded circuits or outlets, frayed wires, faulty appliances, or overtaxed cords. In the event of an electrical fire: · Call the fire department and notify them that it's an electrical fire. · Never use water to put out the flames, as that may cause serious shock. Use only an approved fire extinguisher, or leave the premises. · If possible, SHUT OFF THE MAIN BREAKER. · Be prepared for fires by installing smoke detectors, having fire extinguishers, updating and correcting any electrical problems, and holding fire drills periodically. 🔌safety tips at www.centralhudson.com/safety/electrical ready.cornwallny.gov Plan. Storm King Engine Company #2

It is with deep regret that this department announces the passing of Ex-Chief Stephen R. Johnson (S.R.J.). Ex-Chief Johnson was a 52 year member of the company having served as Chief of the Department from 1983 thru 1984. Steve also served as President of the Company from 1987 thru 1988. Over the years Stevie proved that he was a member and a friend that could be depended on no matter the task at hand. On many occasions he would offer his guidance and knowledge to our members about the history of the company and his experiences fighting fires over the years. He was a member and leader of our legendary "Kitchen Committee" that would provide food for company events including monthly meeting's, the Summer Fair, Riverfest and any other time he was called upon. Steve was a licensed electrician who would provide his services to meet the needs of his brother firemen in the truest sense of the "Brotherhood". Most recently Stevie will be remembered for serving as the Crossing Guard for the Village at the Cornwall on Hudson elementary school. In doing so the responsibility entrusted upon him by the community to insure safe passage of our children while walking to school was treated by him as if all the children were his own grandchildren. Visitation for Ex-Chief Johnson will be held on Monday February 4, 2019 from 2pm-4pm & 6pm-8pm at the Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home located at 337, Hudson St., Cornwall on Hudson, NY. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday February 5, 2019 at 11am. Please keep Stevie and the entire Johnson family in your thoughts and prayers. "Zipper" - You may be gone, but the imprint that you have made on our fire company and your community will live on forever. ... See MoreSee Less

It is with a heavy heart that Storm King Engine Company #2 announces the passing of long time Honorary Member Lloyd Neville, Jr.. Lloyd served the fire company in excess of 50 years as a Honorary Member. During his time with the company he served as our Drill Seargent and the company won many parade trophies which included Retiring the OCVFA Best Overall Thomas Ringlehan Memorial Trophy in 1993 under his watchful eye. He will also be remembered for serving many culinary delights at our Annual Firemen's Fair, the Bruce Armitage Memorial Softball Tournament or one of the many other company events that he gladly cooked and served food at. Lloyd was an avid hunter and fisherman who spent many days sharing his love of the outdoors with friends and family as well as passing along his knowledge to anyone who would listen, especially the next generation of sportsman. In addition to serving his community with the fire company, Mr. Neville proudly served our great nation as a United States Marine. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Marie at home as well as his son, Ex-Chief Lance Neville and wife Tammy, Sister Catherine McVeigh and several grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held in his honor on Saturday February 2, 2019 10am at the St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall on Hudson. 'Mr. Nev." may be gone, but he will never be forgotten by his fellow members of the company. We ask that you please keep Lloyd and the entire Neville family in your thoughts and prayers. ...
